Dennis and I had a long conversation the night of our reunion.  He was excited about his students and the new school year.  He was genuinely happy to see everyone.  That will be my memory...always positive and smiling.

I was stunned to hear the news. Dennis was so upbeat and positive at the reunion. I really enjoyed catching-up and talking about our grade school days downtown. We shared some memories, talked about and looked forward to connecting in the furure. So sad. He and his family are in my prayers.

Sad to hear about Dennis and my condolences to his family.  Only converesed with him "on-line" about the reunion of 2012.  Recognized him easily in the pics of recent reunion-didn't seem to have changed much.  I'm sure his students will miss him as well.  RIP "Gravey".

Talked to Dennis' brother at the funeral home. Dennis had a lot of medical issues such that they weren't entirely suprised at this. However they were thinking a couple of years down the road. Dennis wasn't well at the reunion but would not have missed it for the world. WE were one of his highlights in life. He felt bad at school got better that evening and next morning went down in his bathroom getting ready for what he loved most, his teaching. Dennis was ready for what life handed him and made the most of it  I gathered from his brother.  Dennis, thanks for setting the example for us, you are still teaching.  Mike

Leo, Billy Wilkerson, Bill Davee, Jay Richmond, and I always got together during Christmas break when we were in college to play cards and socialize.  We often get together at the Davee's to play basketball until the sun went down.  I will always remember Leo's smiling face and jovial nature.  I am saddened that another Classmate and friend has passed on.  His gentle nature will be with us all forever.  Keep smiling Leo.  You will be missed.  May our Prayers be with you and your family.
