Hey!  Just got home from a trip over to Bedford area.  Ky...  A winery over there and me and Jacque Hereford went and met up with Debbie Hereford and some of her friends.  They had a Hog Roast and music by an Elvis impersonator.  It was a hoot and had a great time and great food with some old and new friends.  Hope your day has been good.  Church in the morning where we are having a gospel group in and a pitch in dinner after.  Will be up for a while if you still are.    Take care and sleep well if not.    Margie

Bobby!

Sorry I didn't know about you playing or would have tried to get out to see you.  Knew Kay and a bunch were going to see Rumors at the Moose but when I got home the relaxing began and didn't want to venture back out.  I have thought of stopping by and visiting at the carwash and my car is so dirty right now , so could use it for sure, but time just has not allowed it yet.  I live on a dusty gravel road so washing and then going home is a waste of time and money right now.  See you soon though... margie

Linda Riley

Started feeling guilty about my Big Blue UK T-shirt at the reunion and wanted to share why I was such a fan.  My dad mopped the floor at Memorial Gym at UK as a part time job when he 1st went to college out of high school in New Liberty, KY.  He'd watch Coach Adolph Rupp practice with the Kentucky Wildcats and then mop up after them.  Guess family traditions run deep.  After some years practicing in Madison, he always had a 1/2 UK and 1/2 IU flag hanging in his office.  I didn't have a half and half T-shirt to wear at the reunion.  Thanks for the memories.  Linda Riley Cornett

Hi Linda,   What a beautiful testimony about your Dad.  He sure was a wonderful man.  I remember when he would come to my Grandfathers house when he was so sick and take care of him.  I was very young but remember the kindness he showed to my grandparents.  They adored him.  Now I know another reason why he was so special.  He was a UK fan.  I too am an avid UK fan.  I know the feeling.  You had said you lived in Georgetown Ky so its mandatory you be a fan also.  Nothing like the big blue nation.  It was so good to see you at the reunion.   Wasnt it just the most fun.   I still laugh thinking of george in his grass skirt and coconuts singing wild thing..   thanks for the posting and sweet memories of your Dad.                    Karen Ricketts(Adkinson)

Hi!

I just wanted to let you know about two of our classmates and the battle they are going through.

Linda Hunt has had some medical problems, and she is in a nursing home in Franklin, Indiana to be close to her daughter (Not really sure, but I believe she had a stroke or several of them.

Paul Geyman is in Hanover Nursing Home, Hanover, Indiana with some issues relating to his injuries.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers

I will try and get their addresses if you would like to visit them or send them a card

Thank you

LeTiscia

Thank you Margie for letting us know where Linda Hunt is. Also, thank you for keeping us updated on Linda and Paul. I appreciate it very much. Paul Geyman is a very good friend of the Bassett family. I can remember his dad coming to Idaho with my in laws when my daughter was about 7 or 8 months old. They came for a visit. My two older sons were about 4 and 6 years old. We so enjoyed seeing them. The Geyman family were very good friends. I will keep Paul and Linda both in my prayers.
Please keep us updated on any more news that you receive.
Thank you,
Catherine Bassett (Queen)

Lee Wingham (Roszczynski)

Hello All,

I stopped by to see Linda Hunt yesterday and she is recovering well.  We discussed her condition and she was encouraged when I told her that my husband Edward, had done well in recovery by walking as much as possible.  Linda has similar issues with balance and fatigue, but she said that she is trying to get up and get going as much as possible.  She also said that she has had a number of visitors.  Linda is very appreciative of all the people who are stopping by to see her.

Just wanted to give all of you an update.

Lee Wingham Roszczynski.

Thank you Lee for the update, it sounds like she is coming along good, it will just take awhile.  I know cards, visits prayer and thoughts are always needed to help through the recovery.  I do not have any updates on Paul Geyman, but I know he really appreciates cards, thoughts and prayers.

If you read my comment earlier I apologize for mis-quoting what I had read/heard.  Sorry for the error.  sad

With our reunion approaching and the passing of our classmate this weekend Miss Kitty (Peggy Eckerty) I wanted to comment on Don's message he sent out regarding Peg feeling she had a bad experience at a previous reunion, but having a wonderful time at our reunion four years ago.  I spent a lot of time with Peggy that evening and she had a blast, as Don said the laughter, the smiles, it was infectious and she was so glad she came.  I hope that classmates that felt uncomfortable or felt they were treated unkindly in prior reunions as did Peg, who did not come to our reunion four years ago and are not considering coming to this years will reconsider after reading this post.

Four years ago the reunion was GREAT on many levels.  I cannot tell you how many times I heard the statement that classmates made about talking and getting to know other classmates that they did not get to know in school and how glad they were that they had taken the time to talk to them.  I encourage you to get to know someone at the reunion next week that you never took the opportunity to know before. Take a moment or two and talk to them, you never know how much you may actually have in common.

We are all aware that in school there are clicks and if you don't fit in you feel left out and often feel uncomfortable being in a group with them.  Our reunion four years ago did not display that and people who felt unimportant/uncool in highschool, well best I can say is we all blended together for a fun evening.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the reunion next week.  Safe travels to those coming from a distance.

Debi McAlister Myers
